According to a 2016 report, there was 1,672 unaccompanied homeless youth under 25 and 292 unaccompanied children under age 18 in Nevada.
Homelessness among youth is a growing crisis in Las Vegas. For 18-plus years, the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth (NPHY) has provided Southern Nevada’s homeless youth with the help, hope, and support needed to rebuild their lives.
The Nevada State Apartment Association (NVSAA) recently hosted a donation drive to support the NPHY. During the event, Reliance Security collected and delivered several bags of new items to help homeless youth in the region. Supplies included: shampoos, conditioners, soaps, toothpaste, toothbrushes, combs, hairbrushes, deodorant, and feminine hygiene products.
“Youth homelessness is a big issue in Las Vegas. No child should be without food, shelter, and other basic living necessities. It’s important that we do our part to help support those organizations that are making a difference to help end youth homelessness. I’m proud of our team for rallying to collect new items to support the NVSAA and NPHY. I encourage other businesses to find ways that they can give back. Whether it’s a monetary donation, purchasing items on their Amazon needs list, providing supplies, or signing up for one of their many volunteer opportunities, there are numerous ways we can all give back and support the NPHY,” shared Joel Logan, CEO of Reliance Security.
The Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth (NPHY) is the most comprehensive service provider for the thousands of young people experiencing homelessness in our community, providing access to life-changing services for homeless youth in Southern Nevada.
