Project 150 is a local nonprofit that provides necessities to homeless, displaced and disadvantaged high school students.
Held July 29 at the Zappos.com Plaza in Downtown Las Vegas, the organization kicked off the new school year with a complimentary shopping event for students in possession of a high school ID card. Giveaways included items such as clothing, shoes, school supplies, hygiene products and a free haircut.
“We were happy to support this Project 150 event. The organization serves over 3,300 registered homeless, displaced and disadvantaged high school students in 78 schools throughout Nevada,” explained Erica Grabowski, director of business development at Reliance. “These kids need support and encouragement. If we are able to help provide them with the resources to continue in school, then it was a success.”
The Free Teen Shopping Day served 1,406 students.
