Last weekend, Reliance reinforced the security detail at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for 2017 NASCAR Weekend. The event featured the 20th Kobalt 400 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race, Boyd Gaming 300 NASCAR Xfinity Series race and Stratosphere Pole Day.
At the three-day event, Reliance provided 34 security guards and 20 additional personnel to assist with bag searches at entry gates and credential checks at elevators. In addition, the company offered security services to the RV campgrounds. RVs and vehicles with infield passes underwent physical inspections and searches by a K-9 team before gaining access.
Days prior to the race weekend, Reliance executive team members were at the venue to attend meetings, training sessions, a traffic safety press conference and participate in an RV search class based on manuals from the Department Homeland Security.
“We’ve been providing security at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for five years. We initially started with smaller venues, and by the end of 2016, we were providing security for the Red Bull Air Races, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC),” said Joel Logan, COO at Reliance Security. “Since then, we have regularly provided our services to the National Hot Rod Association’s (NHRA) Winter and Spring Nationals, World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series (FVP Outlaw Showdown) and NASCAR.”
Beginning 2018, NASCAR will race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway twice a year. Reliance’s next event at the venue is the DENSO Spark Plugs NHRA Nationals later this month.
Logan continued, “We are very familiar with this location and have developed great business relationships with the executives and their vendors. NASCAR Weekend was a big success, and we’re glad we could contribute to the fun and safe atmosphere for those attending as well as the drivers.”
